Donations and Membership
Our efforts to provide places to practice Zen in Mississippi are entirely dependent of the generosity of our practitioners, friends, and supporters, and we receive all of our funding through donations and membership dues. All donations and dues are handled through our nonprofit corporation, the Shorinji Zen Association, which was established in June, 2017. Shorinji means “Little Wheel Temple”.
Shorinji Zen Association membership
Active practitioners are encouraged to become members of the association. The requirements of membership are that one must 1) Support the purposes of the Shorinji Zen Association; 2) Regularly participate in the association’s activities (primarily zazen); and 3) Commit to paying dues, which are set at $30 per month or $300 per year if paid annually. There is a student rate of $15 per month and exceptions may be made for those with low income or experiencing a period of financial hardship. Donations
We also welcome donations from anyone who would like to support our efforts. You may make a donation by mailing a check, payable to “Shorinji Zen Association” to Tony Bland, 2385 Elmore Rd., Maben, MS 39750 or via PayPal with the button below.
Shorinji Zen Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. All donations are tax-deductible.
